Dear WC friends,

We are now in our 13th year of recording the history of a special period in the Pop and Rock And Roll scene in Los Angeles. It was a time when these amazing musicians had the chance to do something that only a few ever get to do: create music that lives for generations. They were hit makers. They went to work like all other fathers and mothers at the time. Instead of a hammer or typewriter, they carried a musical instrument.

They all admit that they were at the right place and at the right time, but they also had partners in crime as well. We can't forget the producers, arrangers, and engineers who worked together to make memories for millions of listeners. At right is an announcement of a very special evening on March 11th with Stan Ross and Dave Gold of Gold Star at the Grammy Museum. Last year we lost a wonderful man and engineer, Larry Levine. These are the men that led the way in recording technology when rock was in its infancy. If you are in Los Angeles, I hope you can make it. Below you'll find the latest out take from the round table discussion with the Gold Star Legends.

These last couple of months we have had wonderful screenings with sell outs in every city.

• DocuFest Wilmington, NC
• Glasgow, Scotland
• Spokane, Washington
• Sedona, Arizona
• Winston-Salem, NC

The most amazing thing about this past year has been not just being able to share the film but meeting the most amazing people around the world. The audience members, festival staff and volunteers are an amazing breed. The music and story crosses all boundaries; race, gender, nationality and generations. One of the highlights in Sedona was when a 15 year old bass player came up to me to thank me for making the film. Fifteen years old! I promise you, if he doesn't make music a career, he'll be ahead of his class in whatever he chooses. His willingness to learn sets him apart.

The next couple of months is very crucial for this film. We are still talking to the distributors, labels and publishers. I have faith that we will be able to find a home and all the parties come together as an industry to help this film get out to the masses. The emails from all over the world and seeing the film play live to audiences keeps me going. Every door that closes, I open another one. When a wall is put up, we'll break it down or go over the top. Thats not just my motto for the film but my motto of 2009. (have to have a motto!)

Please check out the up coming screenings and please say hello if I'm there. I enjoy knowing someone is actually reading these updates. We are nearing 100,000 hits on the site. (yes, my daughter has a few of them..... but not that many). I still need folks to actually sign on. We need emails so that when the release happens, people will know. Its all about timing.

Take care and keep the faith. We'll reach our goals one way or another.
