A Debut Performance

"The Long Gray Line" made its debut performance at the West Point Society of Washington D.C. Founders Day, on March 14, 2009. Originally an instrumental arrangement composed by David V. Mastran, the song was rescored by Paul Carrol Binkley and William Cosby. To personalize and dedicate the song, Fred Laughlin and members of the class of 1965 added lyrics. On the performance date, Paul Carrol Binkley was asked to conduct the performance of the song. "I was honored to arrange the composition with Bill Cosby," says Binkley, "but it was an even greater honor to conduct the Glee Club in the song's inaugural performance. What a wonderful opportunity!" The song "The Long Gray Line" pays tribute to the graduates of West Point.

Shelean Newman at the Listening Room!

Nashville fans, come out to see Shelean Newman at the Listening Room in Cummins Station every Wednesday through the end of April! Shelean starts the night off at 8pm with a rockin' band, playing songs from her upcoming album "Anything Goes" that's slated to release in June! If you have yet to hear her music, you're missing out. Shelean's set includes standards from the Great American Songbook - but don't be mislead - there's nothing "standard" about these covers. Rather, Shelean and her band have taken favorites like "Something Good," "Anything Goes," and "If I Were a Bell," and moved them in a whole new direction.

You're likely to move right along with them.

GrandVista Music at SXSW!

GrandVista Music spent a few days in Austin, Texas for the biggest musical event of the year: South by Southwest. Not only did the staff scope out some places for our artists to perform next year, but we did some networking, heard great panels, and a brilliant keynote address by the renown Quincy Jones. Be on the lookout for the music line-up for next year, as GrandVista plans to make their first musical appearance at the festival.
