March 2009 Beyond Trees benefit each of us by: absorbing carbon dioxide and other pollutants from the air, releasing fresh oxygen, protecting the water supply, absorbing noise pollution, and reducing energy use by blocking winter winds and lowering summer temperatures. From newly planted saplings to centennial trees, Central Park's trees are pretty and practical contributors to our quality of life. Each month we'll feature a new Tree of the Month on our homepage. Learn more about the Park's great collection of trees and how you can help the Conservancy care for them at www.centralparknyc.org.
Events this MonthSpring Crafts for Tots When it's too cold to play outside, step into the Chess & Checkers House for a festive afternoon filled with seasonally-themed arts and crafts at the Conservancy's new monthly series, Crafts for Tots.
